Net income for the first three quarters of the year is up 37.9% compared to the previous year. Member deposits are growing at an annualized rate of 12.1% in the first three quarters. Every dollar of those deposits came from members, not brokers or outside investors.

The lakes, the trails, the parks: a lot of what makes Wisconsin feel like home is right outside the door. Our new debit cards, created in partnership with Wisconsin State Parks and the Ice Age Trail Alliance, put those places in your wallet, and put real dollars into park and trail stewardship.

We’re Here For Every You.

Gas costs more. Groceries cost more. Borrowing costs more. When every line in the household budget is climbing, where you bank matters more. Safe deposits. Fair rates. A commitment that doesn’t change when the economy does. Here's the strength behind that:

  • $474.4M in cash and Federal Reserve deposits — available right now
  • $1B in investment securities, with 39% maturing within the next 12 months
  • $1.9B in backup borrowing capacity from the Federal Home Loan Bank and Federal Reserve
  • $0 in brokered deposits — we're funded entirely by our members

We carry $638.5M in capital reserves — 32.5% above the threshold required for our highest "well-capitalized" regulatory designation. That's not a response to the current environment. It's how we've always approached growth: carefully, sustainably, and with our members' long-term interests as the measure of success.

"We're financially strong, and well positioned for the current economic environment, which enables us to be a trusted partner. Now in our 95th year, UW Credit Union has the financial strength to continue serving our members through economic uncertainty." - Joe Liethen, Chief Financial Officer

Owning Your Credit Union Means Something.
Here's What It Meant in Q3.

Our high-yield savings money market accounts make a competitive 3% rate accessible without requiring an extraordinary balance. Some institutions advertise their highest rate only for balances of $1 million or more or limit the offer to new accounts for a short promotional period.

$14.4M back in your pocket — and counting

Members with a Rewards Checking account earn up to 2% cash back on every credit card purchase and no annual fee. Earning a consistent 2% cash back on every purchase means you never have to wonder which card to use or whether a purchase qualifies for a bonus category. Getting cash back shouldn’t be a game of chess against your card company.

Through the third quarter of 2026, that's already added up to $14.4M returned to members.

That head start begins in college. This year, more than 5,000 students at seven Wisconsin college campuses joined UW Credit Union. Our student package pairs Rewards Checking with a responsible VISA® credit card that builds credit and earns cash back, a first step toward financial independence.

Free Early Payday — already reaching 155,000 members

More than 155,000 members get their paycheck up to two days early — at no charge. For a member with rent or a car payment coming due, those two days can make all the difference. Early Pay Day automatically applies to direct deposits set up for Rewards Checking. If you are missing out, make the switch today.

We saved members more than $2.5M in overdraft fees this quarter

Here's how overdraft fees typically work at most institutions: your balance runs low, and you're charged $25 or $35 — sometimes several times in a single day, for transactions already in motion.

We designed Balance Backup differently. It's there only when you need it. One fee, one time per day, just $5 — no matter how many transactions come through while your balance is low. You stay covered. You stay in control. You don't get buried in penalty fees for one tight week.

In Q3 alone, that approach saved our members more than $2.5M compared to what they'd have paid elsewhere. We think that’s the way a member-owned financial institution should work.

For Big Plans and Unplanned Setbacks

  •  $4.8B | Total loan balances at quarter end
  • $751M | New loans funded in Q3 — up 12.7% from Q3 2025
  • 9.7% | Annualized loan growth rate
  • 0.50% | Our loan delinquency rate*

*For context: the national average for banks, as reported by the FDIC, is 0.93%.

More members borrowing with us reflects the trust they place in us — and our loan quality reflects the care with which we honor that trust.

Lending is also one of the ways we show up when a community needs us most. In July, an EF-3 tornado struck Menasha, causing severe property damage. We reached out to our more than 3,000 members in the area with emergency loan relief: up to $5,000 with no interest and no payments for the first 90 days, then a fixed 4.23% APR for 36 months, open to members of every credit score. This emergency loan program is for immediate needs while insurance claims are processed.

More Wisconsinites Are Making the Switch

When members find real value — in their rates, their accounts, their experience — they stay, and they tell others. That's the kind of growth we're most proud of.

Growing net interest income is how we sustain the financial strength members depend on. It funds our operations without being dependent on member-paid fees, builds our reserves, and gives us the resources to keep improving.

Net interest income through the third quarter reached $178.1M, up 10.6% from Q3 2025. We earn that by showing up the same way, again and again: fair products, real savings, and a credit union that's easy to work with. When members trust us enough to recommend us, that's the highest mark we can earn.

Owned by You. Invested in Community.

Every dollar of net income we report stays in Wisconsin and goes back to benefiting the 403,911 members who own this credit union. It builds reserves, improves products, and supports our communities. This quarter, you could see that commitment in three places:

Welcoming you in.

This summer, our Middleton Hills branch was remodeled into a comfortable, more modern space, built to serve members well for many years to come.

Celebrating with you what makes Wisconsin special.

That includes the Wisconsin State Fair, which draws nearly 1 million visitors each year to celebrate America's Dairyland. The fair sold more than 350,000 cream puffs this year and, as a sponsor, we provided more than 1,000 fairgoers with a free one. We’re also proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Milwaukee Brewers™ Baseball Club, celebrating a team that gives people across Wisconsin something to come together and cheer for. The UW Credit Union Plaza at American Family Field has become a gathering spot for fans. Including those who came together to watch the Brewers on the road during the playoffs.

Living our mission to improve the financial wellbeing of our members.

In July, UW Credit Union received our Low-Income Designation (LID) from the State of Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, recognizing that we provide credit and financial services to members of all means, including the low-income and underserved communities traditional banks often don't reach. It's recognition of work we already do, and support to keep doing it.

Our work has been the same for 95 years: be steady, be fair, and be there, whatever life brings. That’s what your membership is built on. Thank you for trusting us with your money, your goals and your financial future.
